Note: The following information is from when I started this blog. Meanwhile, a lot has changed. My main website has up-to-date information about myself and my work.

One day, if I should ever have the time, I will make this page look more attractive 🙂 But for now, here is some information about me:
I’m an English language teacher. I have taught general, business and technical English in various contexts in Germany, Brazil and the UK. Now, I live in Turkey and teach face-to-face and online in Second Life. I have completed the Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults).
I also train teachers in how to use the 3D virtual world Second Life for language teaching and learning.
My key interests include learner motivation, encouraging learner autonomy, ICT (Information and communications technlogy) and the use of Web 2.0 tools and virtual worlds in teaching and learning languages.
My next goal: MA in Educational Technology and TESOL at the University of Manchester starting in September 2009 (finished in 2013).
You can find more information about me on my netvibes page.
This blog is for my personal reflections on teaching in Second Life. I hope that reflecting on what I learn about teaching in Second Life and new tools for teaching languages and writing about this will help me to improve my teaching and help me in deciding which tools work and are worthy of keeping in the (virtual) classroom.
Update, Nov 2008
I decided to use this blog for my reflections and other course-related tasks when taking the MUVEnation course.
